The GM Music Hub is an exciting an innovative partnership between local Music Services and regional and national partner organisations which has been set up to safeguard and develop the music education for children and young people across the Greater Manchester region.

Music Service partners: Bolton, Bury, Oldham, Rochdale, Salford, Stockport, Tameside, Trafford and Wigan
Partner Organisations in the Hub: The Halle, BBC Philharmonic, Brighter Sound, Chetham's School
of Music, Charanga, Greater Manchester Arts Officers Network, Manchester Camerata, Manchester Metropolitan University, Music Unlimited, Royal Northern College of Music, University of Salford, Sing for Pleasure, The Voices Foundation.

Mission Statement: To develop inspirational partnerships between local music services and regional music organisations which enable all children, including the most vulnerable, to enjoy high quality music making from the earliest beginnings and to access a broad range of coherent musical pathways,
school, which promote self-confidence, ambition and achievement.


Music Services will be working in partnership with the regional organisations to provide
• Weekly whole class instrumental teaching for schools
• Weekly group and individual tuition for school and direct to parents
• Weekly ensembles both in and out of school with clearly defined progression routes
• A wide range of singing programmes
• Large scale performance opportunities / festivals National and international tours
• CPD for school-based and peripatetic staff Musical Instrument Hire Schemes
• Special projects for schools, using the expertise of regional and national practitioners
in and beyond
