Instrumental and Vocal Tuition
We aim to provide a good quality service offering excellent value for money. Our teachers are highly experienced and skilled, offering the best musical opportunities for your child. Should you decide to receive tuition through Tameside Music Service you will receive a yearly written report on your child’s progress and will also have the opportunity to speak to your child’s tutor at a Parents’ Evening.
Pupils are also given Practice Diaries which provide a written record of what they are expected to practise and gives the opportunity for communication between tutor and parent/carer. Your child will also be given the opportunity to perform in Tameside Music Service Concerts and Events.
What instrument can I learn to play?
Woodwind: Recorder, Flute, Clarinet and Saxophone.
Brass: Trumpet, Cornet, Trombone, Flugel Horn, Tenor Horn, Baritone and Tuba
Strings: Violin, Viola, Cello and Double Bass
Percussion: Djembe, Steel Pans, Drum Kit, Tuned Percussion
Other instruments: Piano, Keyboard and Guitar
Where will lessons take place?
Lessons will usually take place at school during the school day.If it is not possible for lessons to take place at your school lessons can be arranged to take place at our music centre in Hyde after school.
Once lessons have been arranged one of our music service staff will contact you to confirm the time and start date this usually happens before the start of each term.
HOW LONG DO LESSONS LAST?
Standard lesson - Is minimum 30 minute shared/group lesson or a 15 minute individual lesson. (Term time only)
Individual 30 minute lesson - Is a 30 minute individual lesson (Term time only)
Theory lesson - Lasts 1 hour at our centre in Hyde (Term Time only)
IS AN INSTRUMENT PROVIDED?No an instrument is not provided but you can hire an instrument from the music service or bring your own if you choose.
