    Bolton Music Service

    Bolton Music Service works in Bolton and Blackburn with Darwen with all sectors of the local community to increase access to quality music making, raise standards of music education across all schools and academies and to provide exciting musical pathways for children through tuition and music ensembles.

    We teach around 8,000 children weekly to play a musical instrument, teaching the music curriculum in over a third of local primary schools and run 45 weekly out-of-school ensembles. Many of our students come through the Music Service and then go on to play in regional ensembles. We pride ourselves in looking after the needs of each child and providing the specialist tuition required for each child to realise their potential.

    Bury Music Service Ltd is the leading provider of music education within the borough. We deliver instrumental and vocal tuition in schools and at our Music centre. We offer young musicians the opportunity to perform in high quality ensembles, including symphony orchestra, string orchestras, brass and concerts bands, a big band and choirs. These ensembles regularly perform across the region and abroad. We also work closely with schools to ensure the children of Bury have access to the very best music education possible. This includes providing CPD for school teachers, delivering high quality music curriculum classes and Wider Opportunity programmes.

    Over the last twenty-two years, Wigan Music Service has grown from a small instrumental teaching agency working with only a few hundred children across the Wigan borough into a fully encompassing support service for music provision in schools. We now work with over 10,000 pupils per year through our curriculum provision, whole class instrumental projects, small group and individual music lessons and our award winning ensembles. We are in a position to provide a flexible high quality support service no matter what the level of need or ambition is held by a school or an individual student.

    Hallé Ensembles

    Hallé Ensembles complements the work of Hallé Education in developing highquality music-making for gifted and talented young people of ages 8 - 19 from a wide variety of backgrounds. There are four permanent ensembles: The Hallé Youth Orchestra, the Hallé Youth Choir, the Hallé Youth Training Choir and the Hallé Children's Choir.

    BBC Philharmonic

    The BBC Philharmonic is acknowledged as one of the UK?s finest orchestras. It is part of the BBC's family of six performing groups and tours widely in the UK and internationally. Most concerts are broadcast live or recorded for BBC Radio 3. The orchestra is based at MediaCityUK in Salford Quays, its main concert series continues at The Bridgewater Hall in Manchester. The BBC Philharmonic has also made over 250 recordings with Chandos Records.

    The orchestra is supported by Salford City Council, enabling the orchestra to build active links in the area through a busy learning and community programme.

    The Bridgewater Hall is Manchester's international concert venue, built to give the best possible space for music. The Hall hosts over 250 performances a year including classical music, rock, pop, jazz, world music and much more.

    The Hall is home to three resident orchestras: the Hallé, the BBC Philharmonic and Manchester Camerata. The Hall also programmes its own classical music season, the International Concert Series, and works with external promoters to provide a vast range of music programming in Manchester.

    Bridgewater for All is the Learning and Participation programme at The Bridgewater Hall. We provide opportunities for schools, families, adults and communities to get involved with the work of the hall. For 24 years equalising opportunity has been part of Brighter Sound’s DNA, and with every step they work to break down barriers to access and create a more equitable, diverse and inclusive music world. From local grassroots activity to global strategy as the sector lead for Manchester Music City, Brighter Sound’s programme includes artistic residencies and commissions, community-rooted workshops, training and professional development, peer-led support networks, live events and All Things Equal - a large-scale gender equality initiative and manifesto for change.

    Charanga

    Charanga is a national organisation and the technology partner of choice for over 60 Music Education Hubs.

    Charanga works in partnership with the hub to provide local children and young people with Music World online learning for 24 instruments and instrumental teachers with access to Music World Professional digital teaching and learning support.

    For Primary schools, Charanga works closely with the Hub to provide teachers with a Musical School programme that includes contemporary digital teaching resources with CPD delivered by local curriculum music specialists. Secondary schools use Charanga's Music Coach programme to provide students with access to independent digital learning.

    The UK’s first music production and sound engineering school, Spirit Studios have been teaching generations of music makers since 1984. We’re a small, vibrant community of expert tutors and talented students in the heart of Manchester City Centre. We provide degree and industry courses in music production, live sound, audio engineering and music business. Students learn directly in world-class facilities which includes 10 recording studios, a live venue and 110 audio workstations. This is where music careers start.
