Singing in the Classroom: Cambiata Voices Twilight 2

This session will continue the work of the first twilight session, diving deeper into the
fantastic repertoire written specifically to give confidence to cambiata singers. Stuart
Overington is an accomplished conductor, vocal animator and composer working between
Manchester and London, UK. Having trained as a singer and conductor at the Royal
Northern College of Music he is known for his engaging, informative and inclusive style
and works with a wide and diverse range of ensembles.
Alongside his choral work, Stuart regularly works on music education projects for various
companies including Royal Opera House, Opera North and the Voices Foundation. He is
increasingly being recognised as a leader in the field of singing with children and young
people.
Stuart is also an experienced composer and arranger writing pieces for junior and youth
choirs. In 2015 the Hallé Orchestra and Children’s Choir premiered one of his works at the
Bridgewater Hall and is regularly commissioned to write music for children and young
people. He has also has a number of pieces published both for schools and community
choirs.
